The UAE’s future depends on its children, its next generation of leaders. And the government has taken several initiatives to help raise awareness around climate change and sustainability amongst the youth.
CAMPAIGNS
TO FOLLOW
- The Turn it Off campaign to reduce domestic water use conducted by the EAD at airports and malls reached thousands.
- ADWEA water and electricity bill educates households on their per capita consumption vs. the national average.
- The Awareness to Action campaign by the EAD was initiated in all intermediate and secondary schools of Abu Dhabi. Each participating school is expected to assess its environmental impact, including water use, carbon emission, and energy use.

Each individual can take steps in their daily lives that can help combat climate change and promote sustainability. From the cars we drive to the food we consume and the resources we use every day. It is also important to focus on the three R's:

You can do your part in saving the planet by joining the Sahim community. By downloading the app you can contribute to citizen science by reporting the amount of single-use plastics and other waste entering the marine environment throughout the year.
